About HKPAX

A Platform for Artistic Exchange and Collaboration

The Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (HKPAX, pronounced “Hong-Kong-pax”) seeks to foster and deepen interaction and exchange among the global network of arts institutions and professionals in China, including Hong Kong, Asia and beyond. Sponsored by the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, and organised by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, this initiative reinforces Hong Kong’s position as a transnational hub for East-meets-West arts and cultural dialogue.

The “X” symbol in the HKPAX logo represents convergence and creative intersection—where a spectrum of exciting ideas and diverse cultures meet. The five pillars of “Xplore”, “Xperience”, “Xpress”, “Xhibit”, and “Xchange” define HKPAX’s spirit. We aspire for Hong Kong to serve as a gateway for the world to engage with Chinese and Asian cultures, stimulating profound cross-cultural exchange.

The inaugural Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo, held in 2024, welcomed over 1,600 arts leaders and practitioners from a wide span of 60 regions and countries, and attracted more than 32,000 attendees and audiences in the city. The next edition of HKPAX is scheduled for 9 to 13 October 2026. It will once again gather arts professionals from around the globe to experience the city’s unique culture and vibrant performing arts scene through international showcases, pitching works, talks, exhibition, expo programmes and a series of networking activities. HKPAX offers invaluable opportunities and strives to build a sustainable ecosystem that connects and inspires performing arts practitioners from near and far.

Exciting opportunities await. Get ready and join us for a memorable performing arts season in Hong Kong’s vibrant, culturally diverse cityscape!
