Off-stage Talk: Inclusive Art – The Rise of a New Power in the Asia-Pacific Performing Arts Scene

Eddy Zee is a producer and actor with over two decades of experience in the arts. He has produced acclaimed works for various organisations like the Hong Kong Arts Festival, Hong Kong Dance Company, and Tang Shu-wing Theatre Studio. In 2016, he became Head of Performing Arts for Tai Kwun, where he launched The Spotlight Performing Arts Festival, Tai Kwun Circus Plays – The International Circus Festival, and the Asian Dance Film Platform. In 2022, he became the Project Director of No Limits, a festival for inclusive arts development in Hong Kong, to extend his vision about the value of performing arts for the art scene and the society.

About No Limits

Since 2023, Sehyung Oh has served as Director of the Modu Art Theater. Under his tenure, the theatre has staged contemporary European and Asian works and presented over 30 performances, mostly centered on disability arts. Since 2026, the theatre has seen increasing domestic audience engagement and touring opportunities.

The Modu Arts Theatre is part of the Korea Disability Arts & Culture Center (KDAC), an affiliate of the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It is the nation’s premier institution dedicated to fostering an inclusive arts. The theatre South Korea’s first fully accessible performing arts venue, driving a new era of inclusive culture.

Tze Chien Chong is a core member of The Finger Players and an award-winning playwright and director. He is the recipient of the Singapore Dramatist Award and multiple The Straits Times Life! Theatre Awards; notably, his play Oiwa: The Ghost of Yotsuya swept the awards in its year of presentation, winning both Production of the Year and Best Director.

Chong’s plays have been staged internationally in Singapore, the UK, Hungary, Taiwan, and Japan. Notable presentations in Japan include Paper at the Kochi Arts Museum, Drums at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre Festival, Seed at the Asian Performing Arts Festival in Tokyo, and My Father, the Earless Musician, produced by the Youkiza Marionette Theatre Company.

His published collections with The Necessary Stage and Epigram Books feature critically acclaimed works such as Charged and PIE. In 2015, Charged was named by The Business Times as one of the top ten plays of all time in Singapore. Other notable works include Turn by Turn We Turn, Poop!, Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, and The Book of Living and Dying. He has also written for films and television. In recognition of his contributions to the arts, he was awarded the Young Artist Award by the National Arts Council in 2006.

He is currently the Festival Director of the Singapore International Festival of Arts.

Dew Ge is a curator, producer, and founder of Body On and On, and China’s first inclusive arts festival, Luminous Festival. Dedicated to inclusive arts, ecological arts, and contemporary dance, she has curated and initiated several major festivals,including the Touch Contact Improvisation Festival (2017–present), the Luminous Festival (2019–present), and the China-UK Disability Arts Forum (2019–2023).

She has established collaborations with prominent international arts groups and artists, such as choreographer Jérôme Bel, the Scottish Ballet, She She Pop, Theater HORA, Back to Back Theatre, and Introdans. Through these partnerships, she aims to advance cultural diversity and inclusion while fostering rich, embodied spaces and public engagement.

Ge is an IVLP Alumna and recipient of the 2023 Alumni Award. She also curated the 3rd “Women in Motion” program at the West Bund Contemporary Dance Festival and has served as a Visiting Lecturer at the CAFA School of Design.

Frieda  Ng  is a producer and Peng Chau islander with more than 12 years’ experience in programming cross-disciplinary collaborations in film, contemporary theatre, dance, and circus. She currently serves as  Senior  Programme and Outreach Manager of No Limits  and previously served as producer of Tai Kwun - Centre for Heritage and Arts and lecturer for the Cultural Management  programme at the Chinese University of Hong Kong  in 2023.

Ng holds a BA in Comparative Literature from the University of Hong Kong and an MA in History of Art from the University of Birmingham. In 2018, she received a scholarship from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council for her second master's degree in Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship (Theatre) from Goldsmiths College, University of London.
